| 英文描述 | Feline immunodeficiency virus is a lentivirus which can cause a syndrome of immunosuppression called feline acquired immune deficiency (FAIDS). This is an important and common pathogen in cats. This syndrome resembles that due to the retrovirus Feline Leukemia Virus, and is spread by saliva, although it is poorly contagious. Clinical signs of multisystemic disease secondary to immunosuppression are seen; can be lymphopenia. Ocular disease- anterior uveitis, glaucoma, and pars planitis, have been associated with FIV. Encephalopathy due to FIV, without evidence of secondary infection, has been described, particularly in cats with advanced infection. |
